Good fit

An honest conversation about fit.

A small, telehealth-based outpatient practice is a wonderful setting for some people and the wrong setting for others. The page below is an effort to be transparent — so you can decide what's right for you, and so that patients who need a higher level of care can find it without delay.

Likely a good fit

  • Adults (18+) living in Washington or Oregon at the time of the visit
  • People seeking a thoughtful, longitudinal relationship with a psychiatrist
  • Those with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, ADHD, or bipolar II
  • Patients comfortable with telehealth as the sole care modality

Better served elsewhere

  • Acute suicidality or a recent suicide attempt — please seek a higher level of care
  • Primary psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder
  • Bipolar I disorder, especially with recent manic or mixed episodes
  • Active eating disorders requiring medical or specialized multidisciplinary care
  • Active substance use disorders requiring detox or intensive outpatient care

If any of these apply, I'd be doing you a disservice by taking you on. The conditions above need more support than a solo telehealth practice can offer — typically a team-based program, an intensive outpatient setting, or, when safety is the concern, emergency services.

If you need help now

If you or someone you love is in crisis — thinking about suicide, unable to stay safe, or experiencing a medical emergency — please don't wait for an appointment.
