FAQ
Questions worth answering up front.
- Where do you practice?
- Currently, I'm seeing patients via telehealth. I'm licensed in Washington and Oregon and see patients throughout both states. You need to be physically located in one of these two states at the time of your visit.
- Do you see patients in person?
- I do not have in-person availability at this time.
- Who can you treat?
- Adults (18+) living in Washington or Oregon at the time of the visit. I work with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, ADHD, and bipolar II. See the Good Fit page for conditions I refer out.
- Do you prescribe controlled substances?
- Yes — including stimulants for adult ADHD, when clinically appropriate. I generally do not prescribe benzodiazepines for long-term daily use; we'll discuss this openly at your consultation.
- How long are visits?
- Initial consultations are 60 minutes. Follow-ups are typically 30 minutes. Deliberately longer than most practices, because most practices are too short.
- How quickly can I be seen?
- My panel is intentionally small, and I only occasionally take on new patients. This means I may have a wait time for new-patient consultations. Book early if you can; I'll be transparent about timing when you inquire.
- Do you take insurance?
- Yes — I'm in-network with several plans. See the Insurance & fees page for the current list. If I'm not in-network with your plan, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
- Do you do therapy?
- My visits are psychiatric — diagnostic, medication management, and the ongoing conversation that supports both. Most patients benefit from also seeing a therapist; I'm happy to help you find one if you don't already have one.
- What platform do you use for telehealth?
- Appointments are via a HIPAA-secure Zoom application. Please have this downloaded for our first visit.
- What if I need you between visits?
- Non-urgent clinical questions are handled through the patient portal; I reply within two business days. Urgent needs have a separate plan we set up together. For emergencies, use 911 or 988.
